2025 Yamaha Outboards Jet Drive 40 hp Base

Information

2025 Yamaha Outboards Jet Drive 40 hp

Shallows. Rocky-bottom rivers. Shoals. White-water rapids. They’d all prove treacherous for a propeller-driven outboard, but Yamaha’s Jet Drive outboards are all about it. Available in 150, 115, 60 and 40 horsepower, you can “off-road” without the possibility of breaking a blade on rocks or other underwater obstructions. So, while you may be giving up the prop, you’re gaining a whole lot of freedom with a jet drive.

Our 747-cc F40 Jet Drive outboard produces 30 hp at the pump. Its compact, lightweight SOHC three-cylinder, in-line design features a long-track induction system and a single throttle valve. This creates compact, light-weight power and improves throttle response for shallow streams.

Features may include:
  • 219 pounds (including jet pump assembly)
  • Fits 20-inch transom boats
  • Solid 16-amp alternator
  • Nitro Assist Tilt

Power and Performance

Fuel Economy

Precision Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection delivers the exact amount of fuel needed for optimum performance and efficiency. Yamaha’s EFI optimizes fuel atomization further enhancing fuel economy.

Lightweight, Compact Design

Single or Double Overhead Camshaft platforms provide lighter weight, impressive acceleration and better fuel efficiency.

Incredible Maneuverability

Microcomputer Ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimum engine performance, economy and power under all conditions.

Convenience and Control

INCREDIBLE MANEUVERABILITY

With no gearcase or propeller extending below the hull, a jet drive allows you to maneuver around or pass over obstructions that would limit the travel of a conventional, propped outboard.

ERGONOMIC CONTROL

Yamaha’s award-winning, Multi-Function Tiller Handle (optional on F115, F90, F60 and F40 jet models) features an ergonomic design for easy shifting , better grip and less rotation from idle to wide-open throttle. This reduces operator fatigue for a full day of enjoyable boating. Truly multi-function, it control features include throttle, throttle friction control, shift lever, key switch, stop switch and a Power Trim & Tilt switch.

EASY ENGINE FLUSHING

A Freshwater Flush Device allows you to flush the engine without running it, for added convenience and extended engine life.
